The Registered Master Builder is a program offered by the Idaho Building Contractors Association

As an association of home builders, we recognize the need to regulate our industry.  That is why we offer a voluntary registration program for our builder members.

Registered Master Builders are reviewed annually to meet high standards including:

• Proven experience of building in Idaho;
• Favorable references reviewed annually from local subcontractors, suppliers and homebuyers;
• Favorable annual credit review;
• Workers’ Compensation and General Liability Insurance;
• A written limited warranty or be in an approved insured written warranty program;

Improves Comfort While Saving Energy

Insulation is one of the keys to a comfortable, energy-efficient home. But simply having the right amount of insulation is not enough. If insulation is not properly installed, a home can have excessive heat gain during the summer and heat loss in the winter—forcing the heating and cooling systems to work overtime.

Properly installed insulation will completely blanket the home—exterior walls, ceiling, and floors—without gaps, voids, or compressions, and it will be in full contact with the interior air barrier (for example, drywall). Continuous sealing of the air barrier along the insulation is also critical to protecting against moisture damage that can be caused by warm air flow through the insulation to colder surfaces where it can condense. Expect ENERGY STAR qualified homes to have insulation that meets or exceeds the latest national code requirements, providing year-round comfort while reducing utility bills.

BENEFITS OF PROPERLY INSTALLED INSULATION

• Enhanced Comfort. Properly installed insulation minimizes temperature variability indoors and helps keep rooms warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
• Lower Utility Bills. As much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. By preventing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, a properly installed insulation barrier reduces utility bills year round.
• Improved Durability. When insulation is properly installed, the potential for condensation that can lead to decay of building materials is reduced, helping to improve the durability of your home.
• Better Resale Position. The improved comfort, lower utility bills, and improved durability of a properly installed insulation barrier can translate into higher resale value compared to less efficient homes. 

Over the past few years that I have been around Cedar Edge, I haven’t formally talked about the shopping choices in a blog format. I have talked about it with many people face to face, and most of the time if someone comes out to see the community its pretty obvious what shopping is close by. This is for those who haven’t been around the area, or who live out of town and are planning on coming to Boise soon.
First of all, I live out here too. I purchased one of Blacksteads fine homes back in 2006 and my family and I love this area. Paul’s Market is on the corner of 5 mile and Lake Hazel just a half mile away from Cedar Edge. Also in the same shopping complex you have Garbonzo’s which is some awesome pizza. And down form the pizza place is the Boise city library.
Across the street is a Jackson’s gas station, and also kitty corner from Paul’s Market is Walgreens. Lots of great deals in Walgreen!
So as you can see, there are many choices for shopping around Cedar Edge, but also you need to remember that Fred Meyers, Walmart, Lowe’s, Regal 21 Cinema Theater, and much more is less than 10 minutes away too.
